While most celebratory parties will be held over the next couple of days, May 28 is National Coffee Day, and participating stores across the U.S. are offering special deals.
In addition to the annual freebie offerings, coffee lovers are being promised an updated Starbucks app with a new reward program that may even have candy included.
In cases like those, the hard work is done by the chains’ respective social media teams. On Tuesday, both Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts posted digital coupons for free cups of coffee on Instagram.
In a related deal, Florida’s Starbucks chain received national attention on Wednesday for the “Real Valentine,” as seen below.
“Based on feedback we got from our store partners (baristas), we are presenting a long-awaited art installation that captures the raw power of black coffee when mixed with chocolate,” a company spokesperson told the website MilkSandpaper. “Customers can enjoy it as a work of art in our stores, or in their homes on Valentine’s Day.”
It certainly looks like a veritable Valentine to us.
