Cheryl Burke has broken her silence on the death of her former Dancing with the Stars partner Cody Rigsby.
Burke and Rigsby were paired together on the Emmy-winning dancing show in 2011 and shared the show’s highest score for Season 9, with a score of 74 in the finals. On Wednesday, her Twitter account tweeted out the following message:
“Words can’t describe how I feel right now. I’m beyond sad but I’m also thankful for my life,” it read. “God is the One to blame. I’m going to try my hardest to get through this without complaining and be grateful for every little thing. I love you all and thank you for your prayers.”
“@BearsRigsby I love you and I’m praying for you. Be strong. Surround yourself with those you love because none of us will be there to help you,” Burke then tweeted.
Burke and Rigsby made headlines this year after Burke was placed on leave from the Los Angeles-based ABC show while the pair worked with the AHA on a variety of issues concerning the fight against congenital heart disease. Burke made her return to the show in May with her replacement, former Miss USA Olivia Culpo.
Bearsville, Wyoming quarterback Rigsby died after a two-year battle with the disease earlier this month.
